The best Plantain chips

They are made in the oven, so easy, delicious and tastes just like home!


Plantain chips

  • 2-3 Green plantains, peeled and chopped into thick sticks, like potato fries.

  • 1/2 tsp paprika

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder

  • Salt and pepper

Garlic herb sauce

  • 3 tbsp tahini

  • 1/2 cup hemp seeds

  • Juice of 1 lime

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 or 2 garlic clove

  • 1 jalapeño, seeds removed

  • Bunch of coriander

  • 1/4 cup water

  • Salt & pepper


Pre-heat oven into 210c

  1. In a large bowl add chopped plantains and the rest of ingredients, mix to combine to make sure every chip is covered

  2. Cover a large baking sheet with aluminium foil, place plantain chips, making sure they are not overlapping, slide into the oven and bake for about 20min or till golden brown, flipping halfway trough

  3. Meanwhile the chips are in the oven prepare your sauce, place all ingredients except the coriander into a high speed blender, taste and adjust flavours if needed, once is good add coriander and blend for a few seconds more

  4. Remove chips from oven and serve hot, with sauce on the side, enjoy!
